The Founder

photo of teacherMariya Ivanova is a Costume Designer and Dressmaker from London, and holds a costume degree from Wimbledon College of Art. With years of experience behind her working in the fashion industry as well as on film sets and in the wardrobe departments of theatres, she also worked as a sewing teacher for a popular company called Saturday Sewing Session (www.saturdaysewingsession.co.uk) , based in the London borough of Chelsea. During the years that she spent teaching for SSS, Mariya developed a love and passion for not only practicing her work but also passing on her knowledge to others. Berlin Sewing Salon has been greatly inspired by Saturday Sewing Session, where great customer service meets excellent teaching. SSS provides a service that is encouraging and that values their customers and their feedback. They always strive for all of their students to have a wonderful time, and come out feeling happy and proud. Mariya’s aim is to bring some of that magic to Berlin!
