Hüco Stoffe

Address: Lise-Meitner-Straße 7-9, 10589 Berlin

Hüco Stoffe is probably the biggest fabric shop in Berlin selling everything from specialised fashion fabrics to interior fabrics, and everything in between! It is a warehouse full of many shelves stacked full of cloth, and the assistants working there are quite friendly and helpful. They even have a little section for threads and other bits and bobs in a corner of the warehouse. Although a little pricey, Berlin Sewing Salon rates this shop the best in Berlin for fabrics because of the wide range of choice.

Stoff und Stil

Fabrics and haberdashery

Address: Landsberger Allee 52, 10249 Berlin

Stoff und Stil, although not as big as Hüco Stoffe and therefore not as much choice, offers probably the best value for money. This is a great shop for basic fabrics like cottons and wools and the fabrics that they offer are all really good quality. They also have sales on all year round so it’s worthy checking the sale shelves at the back of the shop. Their haberdashery section is quite big selling everything from zips and ribbon to scissors and rulers, at reasonable prices. The staff are friendly and helpful, and everything is displayed well so that you don’t have to dig around. Stoff und Stil is Berlin Sewing Salon’s favourite fabric shop in Berlin because of how pleasant it is to shop there, the price and the quality.

The Turkish Market (Tuesdays, Fridays and half days on Saturdays)

Fabrics and lots of other weird & wonderful things!

Address: Maybachufer 1-13, 10999 Berlin

The bustling Turkish market on Maybachufer runs weekly, and you can find an array of stalls selling all sorts of fabrics, buttons, name it! Shopping there is an experience all by itself, and you can unwind after shopping for your sewing projects with some delicious food, fresh juice or a walk by the canal. The stalls sell fabric at very good prices, and the best bit is that some are open to haggling so you can really get the best price! Although the market is very good value for money, we have found that the quality of the products there are not as good as the fabric shops in this list. However, it is definitely worth a visit!

Frau Tulpe

Fabrics, trimmings, patterns and more!

Address: Veteranenstraße 19, 10119 Berlin

Frau Tulpes is probably the most popular fabric shop on this list. Their products are well presented, and the shop is colourful inspiring you as you walk in. The staff are relatively friendly and shopping there was a pleasant experience, although a bit on the pricey side. They offer many beautiful printed fabrics and you can find something for everyone, a quilters paradise! It a great little shop, and Berlin Sewing Salon would recommend for the quality.

Karstadt Hermannplatz

Fabrics and haberdashery

Address: Hermannplatze Ubahn (U8, U7)

There are lots of Karstadt’s around town, but the one at Hermannplatze has been tried and tested. They have a decent haberdashery section selling various fabrics and sewing essentials. Most of their fabrics are quite expensive, although they do often have end of line sales where you can find great quality fabrics at really reasonable prices. They are a great local store to pop into for an emergency spool of thread or some more pins, and you can pretty much spend all day in there meandering around their other concessions. Berlin Sewing Salon would recommend Karstadt for convenience and quality.
